Rockstar Mindfulness with Shelley Brown: Being Present in a Stressful Time

May 21, 2020 @ 2:00 pm3:00 pm EDT

This virtual event is free for both PCMA POWER Chapter Members & Nonmembers!

During these uncertain and unprecedented times, taking care of our mental health is as important as ever. Join us for this virtual program as we learn from hospitality industry veteran Shelley Brown how to use mindfulness to increase resilience, de-stress, and have a greater overall wellbeing as we navigate the effects of a global pandemic.

We all know mindfulness is mainstream yet many of us aren’t really sure what it is, what it does, and why it matters. Hi. My name is Shelley Brown. My mission is to extend an invitation to you to explore what this mindfulness stuff is about in the most practical and accessible way possible. I’ll be providing a high-level overview of what happens when we are stressed or at a minimum distracted, shine a light on why people practice mindfulness, and share tips on how you can easily implement mindfulness practices into your daily life. The session will be interactive and dialogue is certainly encouraged. I welcome your questions, and I will answer the best I can and point you in the right direction for additional resources.

Registered attendees will receive the Zoom link via email prior to the program.

About our Speaker:

Shelley Brown BELIEVES mindfulness is not what we’ve all been led to believe. Rather than a focus on what’s often seen as woo-woo, weird, and uncomfortable approaches, SHE knows it’s a practice of rock stars…a practice that can transcend “calm”…a practice that trains our brains to embrace and extend time in the present, providing the foundations of self-awareness, increased resilience, and greater wellbeing.

Shelley spent over two decades in the events industry in both planner and supplier roles. And, today she remains connected to industry as a keynote speaker and webinar and workshop facilitator, inviting us to a practice that trains our brains to achieve remarkable calm, focus, and resilience. The end result? We can show up better for our lives and better together.
