Location and Host Sponsor: Hilton Cleveland Downtown (100 Lakeside Avenue East, Cleveland, OH 44114; 216-413-5000)

We have all heard the phrase “human trafficking”, but what exactly is it? Does it really impact the hospitality community? What influence can I have as an event professional to affect my community in a positive way? How can this effect my event/hotel? What do I need to know? Learning just a few simple signs to look for can make a significant difference.

Please join us as Joe Savarise, Executive Director of the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association, shares with you OHLA’s impact on the hospitality community in the fight against human trafficking.  His stories will help you better understand why all meeting professionals need to have more awareness as event professionals. Mr. Savarise’s passion in the fight has made OHLA a national leader in preventing this crime from tarnishing our industry.

The learning objectives for this session are:

  • Learn what investment the hospitality community is making and why
  • Learn what training is occurring at hotels to create awareness
